Reverend Amy Elizabeth Matarese

Ordained Diaconal Minister

Deaconess Amy was ordained by the Bishop on April 22, 2009 in Parker County, Texas in the open air, under a white canopy, next to a large beautiful tree. There were horses, goats, geese and birds. There were no city lights or traffic. There were no elaborate stained glass mosaics, no digital instruments, no musical instruments. Our Deaconess received ordination in the Ancient Catholic Traditional within the simplicity and beauty of God's creation.

On April 30, 2010, Deaconess Amy Elizabeth Matarese earned her Diploma in Applied Theology (Dip.ATh) from A New Ecumenical Ministry for Applied Theology.

In keeping with the new and fresh approach of A New Ecumenical Ministry for Applied Theology the Bishop expanded the ministerial duties of the diaconal ministry by granting Deaconess Amy a Certificate of Licentiate. The Licentiate is the Bishop's license authorising Deaconess Amy to provide these spiritual ministries: the ministry of spiritual healing, the performance and officiating wedding celebrations, the laying on of hands, ministry of holy oil, the rite of baptism, the practice of chaplaincy, spiritual mentoring, direction, and education; utilizing her expertise and knowledge for the spiritual well-being of all those suffering and seeking assistance. Such is the Ancient Catholic Tradition of Saint Bazil of Caesarea, the founder of the hospital concept, who during the fourth century in the year of our Lord, cared for the poor, underprivileged, and the elderly, built Basiliad, in Caesarea, Asia Minor.
